Penny’s Ponderings

Well Valentines Day is nearly here.  What does it mean to you?  Do you like to have the excuse to make someone feel very special, or do you think its a load of commercialised shite?

Me?  I’m a true romantic at heart to be honest.  Id love to have someone to pamper and make feel special, on that day and on any other day really.  But I’m single, and I choose to be single.  Why?  Because I’m a very loyal person and when I am with someone, that’s it, I’m with them.  I would no longer be able to escort, and at the moment I am loving what I do and the people that I meet.  I have a lot going on in my life at the moment, with studying, working and just keeping out of trouble!  lol  I really do like being single.  But I don’t want it to be that way forever, no thank you.  My vision is that I will meet someone to spend my autumn years with, to go places with, to be a companion as well as a lover and best friend.

I think that Valentines Day should not just be for couples but is a day for all of us, to show those that we love and care how we feel about them. 

So stupid cupid, don’t hit me just yet with your arrow.  Pop it away and save it for me for when I’m ready.

Last Valentines I was proper poorly with tonsillitis, I remember it well.  I felt really naff and looked twice as naff as that.  A lovely gent left me a bag on my doorstep of lots of goodies to cheer me up and to while away the time I was stuck at home poorly.  This year will be very different.  I am off to Devon as one of my cousins is getting married on the Saturday, so that’s quite romantic isn’t it?  I’m really looking forward being in Devon, to the wedding and to seeing relatives Ive not seen for nearly 20 years!
